Association For Women- Children- Environment (AFEE) craeted on July 1st 1994, contribute to the good behaviour of women and children in their environment, by suppoting women organisations in the establishment of incomes generative activities, the collection of saving and granting credit, the reinforcement of their ability, the search of funds, the preservation of their environment, the survival of the infant and behave of maternal health. Also the aspect of cultural and socio-educative activities to be benefict to children learning citizen life style.
The zones which AFEE intervened are: Dakar, Diourbel, Thiès and Fatick.
So as the association draws its ressources mainly from subscription of its members, support of sponsor and financial backers; and add the support of ressources persons working in public and private fonction.
ECWA (AFEE) is involved in many domains:
- incomes generatives activities by the set up of projects in profit of the groups it supervises;
- credit by the granting of funds to groups and collection of saving;
environment centres around reafforestation in Fatick and Pikine Darou Khoudosse;
- training of the literacy tuition, economical activities managùent, credit and saving on organizational development, training of the personnel in Senegal as well the personnel aboard;
- nutrition and public health is within the framework of the health constitute that the association worked with local authorities program to drive against polimyelitis. To talk on familial planing and STD/AIDS.
- AFEE collaborate with Community Nuttrition Centres (CNC) to fight against malnutriton;
- assistance to person in need according to the means of the association.
The concept of "XAMAL XALE YI" means education to citizen life program divided in to 3 parts:
- "SEDDO" or sharing to contribute to the child development in te intervention localities;
- "YAR" or education permitte to educate children by creation of many education infrastructures, to sensitise the child by organizing theater on divers site of citizen life
- "XAM SA REW" or citizenship which aims to promote love and respect of the country next to children and cultivate them with certains virtues through exchanges and sites visits.
RESULTS
- Incomes generative activities permitte to women to receive sums to better their living conditions;
- this enables them to initiate incomes generative activities. Thanks to allocated individual credit some women moved from subsistace entrepeurship to micro enterprise.
Since its installation in the rural community of Patar Lia, ECWA supports the populations in the networking process. This leads to the creation of "MBAKATOOR NDEF DOOLE" (united we stand) network opened to villages of the localities.it is well structured with aboard.its instituted a meeting each two months with a subscription activity in 1999.within the framework of the network training are always organised in order to equip better the populations. ECWA’s view is to give sense of responsability to the populations so that they care of themselves and establish a lasting developùent.
It is important to note that in all the activities sensization takes an essential place. when it comes to the "XAMAL XALE YI" program the emphasis is put on universal scoling and mostly that of girlsas well as the dangers of the traffic and the working of children. In fact it is the rights and the duties of the children that are a matter of the utmost urgency.
