Foundation Gma Dakar-Senegal

Based on the outlined background, the general objectives of GMA can be described as:

Setting up in Senegal a centre of expertise and know-how and a regional network structure for a better and more effective execution of projects and initiatives in research and development for prevention, health care, and environment.
Encourage government organisations and research institutes (national and international) to use the accumulated knowledge and experience of GMA to implement their policy and services in a well-structured way in Senegal and elsewhere.

Further to the general objectives, GMA also has specific ones:

Set up in Senegal an organisation which will be occupied by design and execution of research and development programmes aimed at improving local health care, prevention of illnesses, and environment. Protection of environment and sustainability will play an important role. Starting point will be the local needs and facilities, into which research and development programmes must fit.
Definition of valid, practicable, and locally relevant criteria for relevance, quality, feasibility to evaluate programmes and projects which are aimed at local development. This must be done in close cooperation with local experts and institutions.
Set up a network of local experts who can advise about initiatives and projects aimed at West Africans in Europe.
Provide information about developments in Senegal in the area of care, prevention, environmental protection, and sustainable development. One of the vehicles for this objective is the maintenance of a website.
