Internship with GMA-S:

The common goals of international public health such as differentiation in the matters of training and education are adopted for the future professional practice. All forms of empirical research are processed and evaluated in the training process. Thereby, internship should contribute to theoretical and practical knowledge building of a student applied to the real context. This is the most appropriate way to resolve grass-roots problem. In general, scientists approach complex issues in public health, which they are not capable of solving in the global context. In is essential that the entire society is involved from the beginning till the end. Therefore, all students are requested to define a problem and intervention strategies, which they formulate in order to solve theoretical problems in their research. Besides, they have to learn how to conduct interdisciplinary research. Various actors with both social and national functions have to collaborate across several scientific disciplines providing an international participant with an opportunity to actively participate in searching for a solution to the problem. GMA-s makes a contribution in the formation and definition of interdisciplinary approaches in health and environment sectors in Senegal. This happens in co-operation with Dutch Universities.
